St. Just-in-Penwith

by on July 12, 2012

Diary entries have dried up recently, unlike the weather. I considered the following subjects but did not find the time to sit down for them:

1. We were flooded out of a hall in Wales and had a day off at the Grand Hotel in Bristol (photographs on facebook).

2. Your Sister’s Sister… a review of an amusing three-hander. (That’ll do)

3. SS Great Britain, magnificent but emotionally disappointing.

4. Moving house to Penwerris Terrace.

5. Hartland Abbey, a golden evening set in our imagination of an aristocratic idyll, lit by a soft sunset  and later picked out in mysterious twilight by our own lanterns.  (Photographs available on Miracle’s facebook page)

6. A weekend at The Hermitage, swimming off the rocks with childhood friends.

7. A Free Man,  a very good film at The Poly about Moslems protecting Jews from Nazis. I liked the actor who played Younis, he was so good he might not have been an actor at all.

8. Heavy rain in St. Just with a stoical audience who gave us (magnificently) as much as we gave them. They were trapped initially by having to watch our continued movements but eventually Stockholm syndrome set in and we forged a triumphant path together and, by the end, actually found ourselves able to walk on water.

I’m afraid this is just a list of events for which you really had to be there. I hope to be more analytical in future not to say more Earnest. Please bear with Dr. Chasuble’s adventures in the 21st Century, he will send you more.

I do hope that there are no signs of trench foot amongst the company. Hopefully you have your galoshes at hand at all times.

Dr Chasuble is seasoned and tours with wellingtons, some of the younger members do sometimes look a bit soggy!
